These turned out so cute! We began with a guided drawing for the ladybugs. After that the kids chose whatever colors they wanted to use for their ladybug, the only requirement was that they thought about contrast. I had a volunteer help us cut these cute ladybugs out. We finished this project by adding “grass” using crepe paper.
This unit is one of my favorite units to teach. We also got lucky and had several professional photographers come in and help me teach the unit. I think their input really helped the students with that photographer’s eye. The photographs the 5th graders took this year were the result of paying attention to what our guest photographers told them as well as what they learned in this presentation.
