Clay Picture Holders

Clay Picture Holders

Kindies created these cute picture holders complete with a drawing of a flower.  The stand is created with clay, the students got to experiment with texture and printing.  We then created a slot to hold a picture or drawing of some sort.  After they were fired the students painted them with metallic watercolors.  I then sprayed them all with a clear lacquer to make them shiny.  The students also did a drawing which we attached to a border of scrapbook paper.

Antique Cars

Antique Cars

This project turned out so great! We got a ton of compliments on these as they hung in the hallway.  We discussed how the design of cars has evolved throughout time.  We drew two different antique style cars and then the kids chose which one they wanted to color.  We used chalk pastel to color the cars and used watercolor to paint grass and splatter paint the sky.
